Role: Research Lab Technician- Part-Time, Contract to Hire

RICOVR Healthcare is an innovative, early-stage Princeton company developing a highly sensitive point-of-care rapid diagnostics platform. Our soon to be the new “gold standard” technology for saliva testing comes from a premier academic institution and is published in peer reviewed journals. We intend to bring this technology to market to improve human health outcomes and make a positive impact on global society.

We are at an inflection point in bringing this technology to market and are looking to expand our scientific team. As a member supporting the R&D team you will provide tactical execution on our highest priority initiatives. You will execute Immunoassays and create analytical method development and validation for analyte detection using our core technology. This role will be 5 days a week, partial hours each day and we are very open to working with a flexible schedule.

Your New Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments. Including but not limited to
    – Antibody dilution and assay
    – Preparing stock and aliquots of biochemical reagents
    – Handling testing machine (Training provided) and running different titres.
  • Receive or collect, as well as process, samples
  • Calculate test results, and log and report your results in our database
  • Prepare and supervise experiments
  • Perform quality control and calibrate equipment if necessary
  • Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area
  • Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
  • Data review, approval, analysis, graphing, reporting and presentation to internal and external audiences.

 Our thoughts on Experience and Minimum requirements:

  • BS in a Science discipline would be great (plus below) , but open to experience gained on the job
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a lab
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience handling antibodies and other biochemical reagents as well as other chemical reagents
  • Able to perform basic laboratory functions such as: Using a micro scale, measuring out materials accurately, recording information accurately, maintaining clean equipment, washing lab beakers and equipment, operating other simple lab machines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Word and Excel
  • Your experience tells you attention to detail and accuracy matters
  • Demonstrated ability to write understandable correspondence and reports that highlight your results
  • Fluent in English
  • Proven track record of time management and meeting deadlines
  • Understanding of the journey in a new technology firm and bringing your excitement and curiosity to assist with our mutual goals of bringing this to the world
